Match is a project developed when we moved to Tolentino, from the idea of creating an object easy to produce and ship, achievable by a local craftsman with minimal equipment.

Match, Spalvieri & Del Ciotto

The project was first presented at Mint Gallery in London, at the invitation of curator Lina Kanafani. It stems from the reduction and simplification of compositional elements: four essential modules, a solid ash top, a gunmetal-colored steel tube, a height-adjustable wooden foot and a locking screw in the same metal. By multiplying these four elements we created a family of objects, including coffee tables, consoles and coat stands, all sharing the same constructive logic and formal language. All the components of the Match family can be assembled easily without tools, allowing for flat-pack distribution and simplified logistics. A project developed during a research phase, as an exercise in synthesis and structural clarity.
